About House History Check
An independent U.S. public-records research service, built to make property history simple to understand.
Who We Are
House History Check is an independent research service that compiles publicly available U.S. property records into clear, easy-to-read reports. We are not a government agency, a title company, or a law firm — we help you make sense of information that already exists in public county, municipal, and state archives, saving you the time of tracking it down yourself.
Why We Started
Property records in the United States are scattered across hundreds of separate county assessor, recorder, and municipal systems, many of which are difficult to search without local knowledge. Whether you’re a homebuyer doing due diligence, a homeowner curious about your own property, or simply researching a house you find interesting, piecing that information together on your own can take hours. We built House History Check to compress that research into a single report.
How We Work
When you order a report, our team looks up the property in the relevant public county and municipal record systems, compiles what’s available — ownership history, sales, tax assessments, permits, zoning, liens, and comparable sales — and organizes it into a single professional PDF.
A Note on Accuracy
Reports are compiled from public records for informational and research purposes. Record completeness varies by county, and we always disclose when specific data was unavailable rather than guessing. Our reports are not a substitute for a licensed title search, appraisal, or legal advice when making a real estate transaction.
