Data Disclaimer & Refunds
How we source data, and how refunds work.
Data Disclaimer
House History Check reports are compiled from publicly available U.S. county, municipal, and state records. Record availability and completeness vary by jurisdiction — some counties maintain detailed digital archives, while others have limited or partially digitized records. Where information could not be located in public records, we note this in the report rather than estimating or guessing.
Reports are provided for informational and research purposes only. They are not a substitute for a licensed title search, survey, home inspection, appraisal, or legal advice, and should not be the sole basis for a real estate purchase, sale, or financing decision.
Refund Policy
Because each report involves manual research work, refund requests are handled as follows:
- Before research begins: if you cancel before we've started researching your property, you're eligible for a full refund.
- Incomplete or inaccurate delivery: if your report is missing sections that were promised for your report tier due to an error on our part, we will correct it or issue a partial/full refund at our discretion.
- Limited public records: if a property's public records are genuinely limited (e.g. a rural county with minimal digitized history), we will disclose this in the report rather than charge for information that doesn't exist. We may offer a partial refund in these cases.
To request a refund, email support@househistorycheck.com with your order number and the reason for your request. We will never ask you for your card number or any payment details as part of a refund request — refunds are processed directly through Shopify using your original payment method.
